A passenger attacked and cursed an app driver after he refused to enter the garage of the condominium where she lives, in Salvador, Bahia. The case happened in December and went viral on social media in recent days, after the driver released the video.
In the images, the woman said she was carrying “high value” jewelry and was therefore scared. The driver refused to enter the garage and said he saw no need.
But, after all, Can the driver refuse? The answer is yes.
In contact with CNN Uber clarified that trips are requested from one point to another, and, in this case, the driver arrived at the destination requested by the passenger. “Uber regrets the case and considers the use of violence unacceptable. The user’s account was banned from the platform,” the company said in a statement.
Uber has an Uber Community Code, a document that explains what is permitted and what is not permitted in the conduct of users and partner drivers – including delivery drivers.
This material, available on the company’s website, reinforces that all members of the community need to follow the code.
