At least Seven people died In a bus accident in the city of Imigrante, interior of Rio Grande do Sul, on the morning of Friday (4). Students from the Federal University of Santa Maria were on their way to a cactan when the vehicle, which carried 35 people, left the track and fell on a bluff.
The accident
The accident occurred on the Rota do Sol access road, near a metallurgical industry. According to preliminary information, the vehicle left the track on the left side, lost its brakes and ended up descending a bluff.
The highway where the accident occurred was blocked in both directions to meet the occurrence.
University position
The Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) reported that students and teachers who were in the vehicle are students of the Polytechnic College Landscape course. UFSM sent a team to the place to accompany the rescue.
Still in the note, UFSM confirmed dead in the accident.

UFSM received information about the accident in the city of Immigrante involving a bus with 35 people, students and teachers at UFSM from the Polytechnic College Landscape Course, which were on a technical visit to the city’s Cactan Cactan.
UFSM has moved team to the scene to accompany the rescue.

Unable to continue with activities normally at the institution, UFSM decrees official three -day mourning, with suspension of academic and administrative activities today (04) and tomorrow (05) throughout the university. The essential activities are maintained.

Crisis committee
In an interview with the “A Hora” group, UFSM Rector Luciano Schuch said the university created a crisis committee to follow the situation.
In the interview, Schuch said students are between 17 and 25 years old. “We are looking for the correct information of the state of health of each of these students, even to make families quieter, and also provide all the necessary support.”
