In a video obtained by CNN, the man states that he owes nothing to the police. In his account, his daughter was being abused since she was 3 years old. The man also claims that he would have sought assistance from the Guardianship Council and that he said he had no assistance.

According to the Civil Police, in addition to the planning of the escape, Anderson would be using parental alienation as a way to manipulate the child. This practice would be taking place for months and was a determining factor for the loss of his daughter’s guard.
Given this, the corporation decreed the temporary arrest of man for crimes of kidnapping, private jail and disobedience. After a favorable opinion from the Public Prosecution Service of Santa Catarina, the arrest was granted by the judiciary within 30 days.
