Israel confirmed on Friday (14), the names of Three Israeli hostages that will be freed by Hamas this Saturday (15) .
The American-Israeli Dekel-chos, the Russian-Israeli Alexandre Troufanov and the Argentine-Israeli Iair Horn will be released around noon at local time (07:00, at Brasilia).
The event marks Sixth exchange of Palestinian hostages and prisoners under the agreement of Gaza ceasefire which came into force on the day January 19 . In return, Israel must release 369 Palestinian prisoners Shortly thereafter, according to the Hamas Prisoners Media Office.
The action should alleviate tensions between the parts after last week’s threats. Hamas had threatened no longer release hostages after accusing Israel of violating ceasefire terms by blocking the entry of help into Gaza.
In response, Israel, with the US, threatened to terminate the ceasefire agreement if the hostages were not delivered on time. The differences were resolved when Hamas said it would release the hostages as planned.
What is known about hostages?
Dekel-as, an Israeli-American, Troufanov, a Russian Israeli, and Iair Horn, whose brother Eitan was also kidnapped, were captured in Kibbutz Nir Oz, one of the communities around the Gaza Strip, invaded by Hamas armed men on October 7, 2023.
Dekel-chos
Chen was 35 years old when he was kidnapped while trying to defend Nir Oz from Hamas members. His wife Avital was pregnant with his third child during the attack. His daughter was born while he was in captivity and took a year in December.
Alexandre Troufanov
Troufanov was kidnapped at age 27 in Kibbutz Nir Oz, along with his grandmother, Irena Tati, his mother Lena Troufanov and his girlfriend Sapir Cohen, who were released in an earlier agreement. His father Vitaly was killed during the attack.
IAIR HORN
Horn, now 46, was also captured with his brother Eitan, who is still in captivity.
