Each year, a panel of experts made up of recognized authorities in the area of ​​photomicrography and photography evaluates the images sent by the participants, from which 20 winners are selected, images that are exhibited in numerous museums and science centers in the United States and Canada.

After the publication of the recent delivery of photos of the also known as the “Nikon small world contest”, one of the 57 participating images that most caught the attention of users on networks was that of a carpenter ant, which caused an impact due to its monstrous and terrifying appearance.
