What is the real story that inspired the film “Men of Courage”?

The film directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Tron: Legacy” and “Top Gun: Maverick”), “Men of Courage” (2017), which airs on TV Globo's Sessão da Tarde, this Monday (8), is based on a true story.

The plot portrays the work of one of the largest firefighting forces in the USA, the Gratine Mountain Hotshots, in a forest fire that engulfed Yarnell Hill, in Arizona, and became part of the country's history.

The fire started on June 28, 2013, caused by lightning and spread to more than three thousand hectares in two days. More than 400 firefighters worked to fight the flames and 19 died.

The fire only began to be contained on July 2nd, four days after it started, and was declared 100% under control on the 11th of the same month.

The film features Josh Brolin (“Dune: Part 2”), Miles Teller (“Whiplash: In Search of Perfection”), Jeff Brides (“The Big Lebowski”), Taylor Kitsch (“John Carter: Between Two Worlds”), Jennifer Connelly (“A Beautiful Mind”) and more in the cast.
