The show days of one of the most popular tours of the year in Brazil are approaching! The singer Taylor Swift will perform five performances on The Eras Tour in the country this November, at Rio de Janeiro is at São Paulo .
In Rio, the shows will take place at the Nilton Santos Stadium, on the 18th and 19th. In São Paulo, the sessions will be at Allianz Parque, on the 24th, 25th and 26th.
For fans who are preparing for the event, one question remains unanswered: will it rain on the show days?
According to meteorologists consulted by CNN the possibility of rain is high, although it is still early for it to rain.
“At this time of year there is a great risk of this type of event being impacted by rain, as the cities of SP and RJ will already be experiencing the wet period in the second half of November”, explains meteorologist Alexandre Nascimento, managing partner of Nottus .
The expert highlights that “most of the time, at this time, rain comes in the form of storms, with winds and thunderstorms that can even cause interruptions in major events”.
Historically, the average rainfall for November in São Paulo is 149 mm and 15 days with rain. In Rio de Janeiro, the average is 131 mm and 10 days with rain, according to information from Climatempo.
For this year, the forecast from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) is for above-average rain in the Southeast region — which is home to the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
One of the explanations is the action of the El Niño phenomenon, which should continue to influence the Brazilian climate in the coming months.
Meteorologist Josélia Pegorim, from Climatempo, predicts that from the 17th to the 19th, in Rio de Janeiro, there should be “a lot of humidity coming from the sea to the continent. So, we would have days with lots of clouds, light to moderate rain.”
In São Paulo, the weather should become “more unstable on the 24th and 25th, with rain showers, and improve a little on the 26th, but still with a more closed sky”.
According to Pegorim, a cold front is expected to reach the coast of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on November 15th and 21st, which would imply subsequent infiltration of moisture from the sea.
As this is a medium/long term forecast, changes are still expected, warns the meteorologist.
