What Meloni discussed with Biden and Erdogan at the G20

At her conference G20 in Bali, Indonesia, the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni today he had bilateral meetings with the American president, Joe Biden and with the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the announcement of the Italian government, Meloni expressed her closeness to the Turkish people and the country’s government, referring to terrorist attack in Istanbul and “the two leaders reiterated their commitment to resolutely continue the joint fight against terrorism.”

The Italian Prime Minister, as underlined in the announcement, “stressed the importance of Italy’s cooperation with Turkey in the context of NATO and reiterated the will to further strengthen trade relations”.

At the same time, at Meloni’s meeting with the American president joe biden, which lasted almost an hour, there was reference to the stability of the Atlantic Alliance and “the outstanding cooperation to address international challenges, from common security to economic development”.

According to the Italian government, “Biden and Meloni referred to the very close bilateral relations and the will to strengthen them. At the same time, the subject of discussion of this bilateral meeting was “support for Ukraine, stability in the Mediterranean, in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, as well as relations with China”.
