Nissan’s St. Petersburg plant produced 45,040 vehicles last calendar year, which is 17% more than in 2020. Since November last year, the plant has been operating in two shifts, with about 2,000 employees.
The Qashqai crossover remains the most mass-produced model on the Russian assembly line of Nissan, the production of which increased by 17% to 22,156. The production of the X-Trail crossover last year amounted to 20,312 vehicles, which is 18% more than a year earlier. 2,572 Murano crossover units were produced during the year, up 20% from the previous year.

In April 2021, the production of Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail crossovers with the ProPilot system, which belongs to the first level unmanned driving systems, started at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. Also, the cars received branded functions of Nissan Connected Services.
Nissan’s bestseller in the Russian market last year was the Nissan Qashqai crossover, whose sales decreased by 7.4% and amounted to 20,474 units. Second place went to the Nissan X-Trail with a score of 19,010 vehicles, down 6.1% from a year earlier. Sales of the Murano full-size crossover were down 7% to 2,617 units.
Last year, 4,424 Russian-made cars were exported to Kazakhstan and Belarus, which is 37% more than the previous year.
