What was the first soap opera on TV Globo? Discover the plot and see images

“Lost Illusions” The Globo's first soap opera , debuted 59 years ago. The date was celebrated on Friday (26), along with the broadcaster's anniversary. In total, they were 56 chapters written by Ênia Petri and directed by Libero Miguel and Sérgio Britto .

The plot featured the actors Leila Diniz and Reginaldo Faria as the main romantic couple. Furthermore, the actress played the villain of the story. Osmar Prado, who was also part of the cast, was the brother of Leila's character.

Other names such as Sebastião Vasconcellos, Rosita Tomaz Lopes, Myriam Pires, Ítalo Rossi and Norma Blum were also present in the production.

Premiering on April 26, 1965, the episodes of “Ilusões Perdidas” were broadcast until July 30 of the same year. A curious fact about the soap opera, according to Memória Globo, is that in Rio de Janeiro, the plot was shown at 7:30 pm, from Monday to Wednesday. However, from May of that year, the exhibition moved to 10pm, from Monday to Friday.

Another curious fact mentioned by the broadcaster is that the author Ênia Petri and the director Líbero Miguel, were already married and before diving into the soap opera in question, they had already worked together on TV Paulista, in soap operas such as “Eu Amo Esse Homem” and “Eu Amo Esse Homem” and “ Tortura d'Alma”, both shown in 1964.
