Donald Trump is pushing for the end of the war in Ukraine at any cost to the Ukrainian people, with many worrying about the country’s future. The Wall Street Journal in analysis of Ukraine’s fate has examined various historical cases that are similar to the interest being located in the Korean War in both Turkish invasions in Cyprus. According to wsj.com, in the Korean War, the US forces fought for the government of President Singman Ri in South Korea against the communist north and his Chinese and Soviet allies. In 1953, after three years of war, a truce separated the country about the 38th parallel. Ri opposed the agreement, considering betrayal, but was pressured to agree because of President Eisenhower’s threat to discontinue US military support.
