Rumors that Geely will be producing smartphones appeared in early 2021. Then it was said that for a faster entry into the market, Geely could buy Meizu. And already in the middle of last year, the parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding organized a subsidiary, Hubei Xingji Shidai Technology Co Ltd, which was assigned to create smartphones. China has now approved mobile phone design patents as part of applications filed by Hubei Xingji Shidai Technology Co Ltd. The sketches below show what the first Geely smartphone will look like.
There are two design options for the back panel, but the differences are only in the nuances of the edging of the main camera block and modules. The modules themselves are placed in the center in the shape of a triangle. Apparently, a small circle on the left shows a microphone, but two larger circles, on the right and below, can symbolize a flash and some kind of additional system. For example, a laser autofocus assistant. The front panel is without any frills – with an embedded front camera in the center and minimal screen bezels, which, apparently, will be flat, not curved.
There is no information about the date of the premiere or release of the first Geely smartphone. But earlier it was said about the release of the first model by 2023 and the desire to sell about 3 million smartphones in the first year.
