Whatsapp, all the news for audio messages (we send 7 billion a day)

There are those who adore them, and cannot do without them, and those who hate them. Regardless of preferences, di voice messages on Whatsapp we send about 7 billion a day. This is why they are one of the fronts on which the platform controlled by Meta (the Facebook holding) is concentrating a large number of novelties. Some have already been released, even if not to all users and after long periods in the beta phase that is only for a small audience of experimenters, others are on the way. Let’s see what they are in detail.

The first is the (saving) possibility of play the audio note in the background: it will in fact be possible to continue listening to a specific voice message even if the conversation has been closed and you have moved on to another one.

Similarly – but this has already been released in the past few weeks – it is easier to record an audio message: now you can pause and resume whenever you wantperhaps to deal with something and pick up the thread without condemning the interlocutor to an infinite listening and oneself to start over or send too many different clips.

The same functionality comes for listening to a received voice: you can comfortably pause and resume later without having to leave again or jump randomly at some intermediate point.

Small change on Whatsapp (used by over 2 billion users) also in terms of design, also seen at the end of February: the reproduction of the voice message will no longer be standardized but visually represented by a wave line which among other things gives an extra indication to follow the recording, for example understanding which points to return to to listen to a passage again.

Then there is the possibility of play forwarded voice messages at increased speeds (1.5x or 2x)as well as with direct ones exchanged from one interlocutor to another (or in a group or list).

Finally, to avoid any regrets or too many mistakes and as announced, before sending the voice message the user can listen to it again for a final check.
