WhatsApp keeps releasing one novelty after another. After the distribution of end-to-end encrypted backups, a feature arrives for WhatsApp groups that makes it easier and faster to join an ongoing call within a group chat (which, let’s remember, can accommodate up to eight participants only in audio or also in video). It is a new button positioned right inside the conversation, in the screen: in this way no further step will be needed to join the call in progress.
Nothing revolutionary, of course, but the Facebook-controlled platform has been working on this kind of for some time simplifications of the user experience, to make it simpler and more fluid. In this case, joining the audio and video conversations becomes faster. It could have been done before even if it was necessary to select the Calls tab and choose the one you wanted to join. Now, when you join a group you will immediately realize if there is a (video) call in progress and possibly join in one touch on that sort of notification button within the chat. A bit like on Skype.
WhatsApp: soon it will no longer work on these smartphones

And while Telegram, a major competitor, has hit one billion downloads on Android, WhatsApp still remains a problem for many. Some numbers of a recent survey by Censis in collaboration with Lenovo also give the sense of these continuous innovations introduced by platforms to promote usability. Eg nine million Italians have problems using messaging tools such as Facebook chat (among other things, eight million who show difficulties on the mother platform and Instagram and seven million who do not know how to surf the web.
After the news on Whatsapp groups, the platform is ready to give up support for older smartphones. From November 1st, the most used chat in the world will no longer be usable for a series of smartphones considered obsolete that would no longer allow you to make the most of the latest features. These are those equipped with a version of Android 4.0.4 or earlier (one of the Ice Cream Sandwich updates). A release released in 2012, almost ten years ago, yet a minimal percentage of users – perhaps for old spare phones left in a drawer – may still have it installed.
