WhatsApp has been working hard recently to improve features and security measures for the popular instant messaging platform. Now instant calls and message complaints have been added.
Users can now report WhatsApp accounts by flagging a specific message with a new feature. You can press and hold a specific message to report it or block the user. This feature saves you a few taps when it comes to blocking a user. Complaints about messages can be useful in combating spam, harassment, unwanted SMS, illegal or criminal messages. In its latest report, WhatsApp says more than 2.2 million accounts were blocked in September alone.
Instant calls (Flash call) allows Android users who install or reinstall WhatsApp on their devices to check their phone number using an automatic call instead of SMS. WhatsApp claims this is a much safer option since everything happens inside the app.
WhatsApp recently also got disappearing messages and the ability to hide the last visit from certain people in the contact list. In addition, the user will now be able to see notifications about reactions to messages.
A feature is also being introduced that removes the need to connect your smartphone to the network to use the messaging platform on other devices.
