WhatsApp, how to use the new options to format text

After the chat lock and the ability to use an account on multiple devices, Meta has released a new update Whatsapp which introduces something new that is certainly useful to all those who often communicate through text chats: in fact, if it has already been possible for some time to format the text of messages by applying the most common styles, from now on it will be possible to enrich conversations with other four new formatting options.

How to use them

Available to all those who use the from service Android, iOS, desktop And webthe options introduced in the recent update can be activated by performing simple and quick steps directly in chat: here's how.

Bulleted list: from the shopping list to the list of things to pack, it is possible to write a bulleted list simply by positioning the symbol «» at the beginning of the text followed by a space, obviously without quotes. After typing the first bullet and moving to a new line, WhatsApp will automatically add a new bullet.

Numbered list: for this type of list it is necessary to type one or two digits, a period and finally a space, for example, «1. ». Also in this case, by going to the end, the numbering will progressively advance automatically.

Quotation marks: typing the greater symbol «>» followed by a space before the text to highlight, you can enclose a quote in quotation marks.

Inline code: particularly widespread among programmers, this type of formatting allows you to highlight words or phrases by enclosing them in single quotes. To use it you will need to insert a grave accent «`» on both sides of the message without leaving spaces.

Useful for communicating in a more orderly and effective way, these new options are added to those already available for some time Bold, italics, crossed out and monospaced applicable simply by highlighting the text of the message – while typing – with a tap and then tapping on the item Format.
