WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram experienced access instabilities this Friday afternoon (19), when they suffered from a simultaneous fall.
The three belong to Meta, a company called Facebook and which controls the three social networks.
In a statement to CNN, Meta said: “Today, earlier, a technical issue caused some people to have difficulty accessing our apps and services. We resolve the issue as quickly as possible for all impacted users and we regret any inconvenience.”
On Down Detector, a website that gathers reports of crashes, there was a peak of complaints on the three platforms around 2:03 pm. See the images below:
We were wrong: an earlier version of this text said that platforms announced the fall. In fact, the drop had only been noticed by the Down Detector. THE CNN contacted the platforms’ advisors and got a later feedback. The text has been updated to reflect correct information.
