THE WhatsApp announced a series of updates in its application this Wednesday (9) that will reach the group conversations, channels and video calls made through the tool.
Among the news are the selection of who can see their status, the delivery of audio summaries in the channels created on the platform and the possibility of scanning documents directly from the application camera.
According to WhatsApp, now the groups will show how many people are online just below the name of the conversation.
In addition, another news within the collective chats is that the user can configure which notifications they want to receive – only mentions, answers and messages of saved contacts or all. To change the configuration, go to the “Notify” section and enable the “Highlights” option.
Now WhatsApp will allow the “online” status to appear only for selected contacts, omitting to those who wish the application is open. To do this, just go to the “Settings” and “Privacy” tab, choosing who can see the message or not.
Another novelty is the possibility of creating events on individual chats, in addition to the new options to respond to an event with “perhaps”, include a guest, add the date and closing time and fix it in the conversation.
Video calls have gained improvements to have more stability and quality, with optimized connection and high definition images. Still, voice messages sent in channels will have the option to generate a written summary for those who can’t hear them.
Users who have an iPhone have gained exclusive updates: now they can scan documents within the application camera and have the option of making WhatsApp the standard call system.
Remember: Brazil is the country that sends the most audios on WhatsApp
