Whatsapp now has a proxy. You can use the messenger even if it is blocked

In some countries, governments take action to block online services for one reason or another. In this regard, the WhatsApp development team announced support for a proxy server in the messenger. The new feature allows users to stay connected even if the service is blocked.

The company noted that activating the proxy allows you to connect to WhatsApp through servers created by volunteers and organizations around the world that help people communicate freely. Messages sent and received through a proxy server are still end-to-end encrypted, but the user’s IP address in this case is transmitted to the party that provides proxy server services.

To use this feature, you must first find and select the desired proxy from trusted sources. Then, in the settings, go along the path: “Storage and data”> “Proxy”> “Use proxy”> “Set proxy”. Here you need to enter the proxy server address and save the settings.
