WhatsApp now lets you undo deleting a message with 5 seconds

For quite a long time, the most popular messenger WhatsApp was much inferior to its competitors in terms of the set of functions – some of the features that the same Telegram has for many years, the application received only recently. But now the developers, apparently, have moved on to implementing their unique and rather interesting features, which not all messengers on the market have. First, digital avatars were introduced, and now WhatsApp has the ability to avoid accidentally deleting a message on a user’s device. This is very convenient, since the absence of this function often put a person in an uncomfortable position.

The fact is that in the WhatsApp application in chats, the user has the opportunity to delete a message for himself (the function is called “Delete from me”) – in this case, the rest of the chat participants still see the message, but it disappears from the sender. Accordingly, the user could send some message of a personal nature or containing confidential information to the wrong chat, and then delete it from himself, leaving the data for everyone to see. Now you can undo the delete action itself – the new function is called “Random Delete” and it allows you to undo the previous action within 5 seconds.

When a user deletes a chat message only for himself, a corresponding warning will appear in his interface, which will disappear after 5 seconds – during this time, you can click on the cancel button, but after the specified time has elapsed, the message will still be permanently deleted. The update with the new feature is in the process of being rolled out and should soon be available to all users in both personal and group chats.
