A few weeks ago, WhatsApp introduced the ability to respond to a message with emoji. For many users, this is a long-awaited feature, but, unlike Telegram, it only allows you to use 6 emoticons. Now the developers are preparing an update that will remove this limitation.
WhatsApp has already added the ability to put reactions in group chats, and soon iPhone owners will be able to use any emoji as reactions. According to the WABetaInfo resource, the corresponding changes first appeared in the beta version of the application for Android and PC, and are now being tested for iOS. When the feature becomes available to all users, a “+” button will appear next to the 6 emoticons. When you click it, a window will open where you can select any available emoticon as a reaction to the message. In the same window, you can see recent reactions.
The Reaction 2.0 feature is currently being finalized, which means it could be coming very soon.
