Sometimes it is enough to put some kind of reaction to the message than to respond to the statements of the interlocutor. Many instant messengers and social networks have long acquired this feature, and WhatsApp is still lagging behind. But the good news is that the developers of the service are already working on adding reactions to chats, and now there are images of how they will look in the application.
Profile resource WABetaInfo has shared screenshots that give an idea of how the reactions to messages in WhatsApp will look like. The first image was taken on iOS and the second on Android.
WhatsApp is preparing message reactions (secured by end-to-end encryption) in a new upcoming update of WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. 👍❤️😂😮😢🙏 pic.twitter.com/o9CMW6pnsN

As you can see in the screenshots, emoji reactions will appear in the line above the message, and as soon as the user touches one of them, the reaction will appear at the bottom. It looks like there will only be six reaction emojis at first, and it’s unclear if more options will be added in the future. According to WABetaInfo, reactions will receive the same end-to-end encryption as the messages themselves, as well as chat backups. This feature is expected to arrive in an upcoming WhatsApp beta update for Android and iOS. Unfortunately, the beta testing program is currently closed to new users, but Android owners are free to download and install the WhatsApp beta from verified open sources.
