A new test indicates that it may soon be possible to create personalized profile pictures using artificial intelligence on WhatsApp. The information was published by the specialized website WABetaInfo on the 2nd.
There is a good chance that the feature will be added to the Imagine function, being able to create various types of images from whatever the user requests. In the screenshot revealed by WABetaInfo, it reads: “take photos of yourself once, then imagine yourself in any scenario, from a forest to space”. In other words: it is possible that, from photos chosen by the user, the AI will generate creative scenarios for the image.
To do this, you will need to take some selfie-style photos so that the AI can capture all the details of your face. The images will be added to a database for the AI to create images in the future.
Once the photos were taken, it would be necessary to type the term “Imagine Me” in the Meta AI chat, the artificial intelligence of Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, to activate the artificial intelligence.
On the same screen published by WABetaInfo, the products of the work of artificial intelligence are displayed. In one photo, people can be seen in a forest; in another, with flowers on their heads; in the last, with headphones in a more futuristic environment.
Also according to information from WABetaInfo, the Imagine Me feature will be optional, and it will be necessary to activate the mechanism manually in WhatsApp settings.
The new feature is expected to be launched later this year. The feature is already under development in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.
