WhatsApp developers are working on another long-awaited feature for iPhone users. This time, the iOS app will soon have the option to hide Online status. As WABetaInfo points out, the new feature is already in development and should be added in a future update.
For now, users can choose whether their last visited WhatsApp information is shown to all contacts, individual users, or no one. The upcoming iOS version of the app will take the same approach to online status. Two new options will appear in the privacy settings for the online status: “Everyone” (everyone) and “Same as Last Seen” (the same as for the last visit). For example, if “My Contacts” is selected to view the time of the last visit, and “Same as Last Seen” is selected for the online status, then only those who are in the contact list will be able to see the inscription “Online”.
The new privacy feature is being developed at the same time as WhatsApp’s other equally important feature, the ability to edit messages. Surprisingly, it is still impossible to edit the text part of the message in the messenger, you can only delete it completely.
