WhatsApp will launch the transfer of dialogs between iOS and Android: it is already being tested

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to transfer chat history, logs, attachments and documentation between iOS and Android devices. This innovation will simplify the transition between the two platforms. Information about this was reported by the Internet portal WABetaInfo.

It is worth noting that in order to quickly transfer dialogs, it is necessary that the latest version of WhatsApp is installed on the devices. If the user does not fulfill this condition, then he will receive a notification with a request to update the program. This is to avoid interoperability errors between platforms.

It is worth noting that up to this point, no system has been presented that would allow the transfer of dialogs between iOS and Android. For this operation, they turned to third-party software. The fact is that on iOS, WhatsApp uses the iCloud cloud service to back up user data to make it easier to switch to a new mobile device and restore the messenger history. And in smartphones based on Android, the application works with Google Drive to store and resume dialogs.

At the moment, the press service of WhatsApp has not provided information on the exact mechanism of how the transfer of dialogues between platforms works. The new feature is expected to be available soon. In addition to transferring dialogs, WhatsApp is developing password-protected iCloud backups, self-destructing images, and the ability to link one account to four devices.
