WhatsApp developers have released a beta version of the messenger for Android with the index 2.23.1.24, which has a new bookmark icon for disappearing messages. The fact is that the service team has been testing the ability to temporarily save such messages for some time, and now there are details of how this will work.
As profile resource WABetaInfo notes, the new bookmark icon serves as a visual indicator that the disappearing message has been saved and will not disappear from the chat, even if it has already expired. This feature allows users to easily distinguish saved messages from other disappearing messages in a chat. Such publications remain visible to all participants in the correspondence, but each of them can remove them from bookmarks at any time.
The feature is still in development and is not yet available to beta testers. At the moment, it is not clear when public testing will begin, but, apparently, in the near future.
