The team of the popular messenger WhatsApp, part of the Facebook company, has begun preparations to end support for older versions of the iPhone.

As the thematic resource WABetaInfo noted, in the fresh beta version of WhatsApp for iOS, support for the iOS 9 operating system has disappeared.
Note that the last reduction in mobile support from WhatsApp took place in February 2020. Then the WhatsApp application stopped working on smartphones with the Android operating system version 2.3.7 and older, as well as iOS 8 and older.
The stable version of WhatsApp has no new restrictions yet. Apparently, the end of support for iOS 9 in the stable version of WhatsApp will be officially announced later. As reported now in the Help on the WhatsApp website, the app is still supported on Android 4.0.3 or later, iOS 9 or later, and KaiOS 2.5.1 or later.
