When will Coldplay stop making music?

Coldplay would have an expiration date: 2025. The band made up of Chris Martin and associates, as stated in NME last October, it seems it will stop when the twelfth album is reached. And the artist has returned in these days to talk about the question a BBC Radio 2 in a clip that precedes her Christmas show with Jo Whiley. “Our latest record will be out at the end of 2025. I think after that we will only go on tour and maybe we will do collaborations, but the Coldplay catalog will end there,” he commented. The revelation, which comes shortly after the release of their new and ninth album Music of the Spheres, it would probably be linked to the laborious commitment associated with making a record: “You have to think of everything to make them,” said the frontman. “I love it and it’s fantastic, but it’s also very intense.”

The epilogue of the band born in 1997 and which debuted in 2000 with the album will therefore be near Parachutes? Who can tell. Whiley herself told colleague DJ Zoe Ball that Chris Martin is “disarmingly honest” in interviews, but also that “I’m never quite sure if he’s joking or damn serious.” The twists may not be missing and, certainly, the history of the band is already rich in successes and achievements: just think that the estimate speaks of 100 million albums sold and, according to the Sunday Times, Chris Martin would have an estimated assets of £ 125 million.

Conflicting the opinions of the public. By those who claim that “I didn’t like any of their stuff afterwards Live life»To those who hypothesize that« they will come back in 2030 for more money with a new drummer or guitarist, just like all the other big bands before them »until« they don’t have to stop ». Stop or not, the band can give certainty: it continues, in fact, in its commitment to support the environment. In October, Coldplay announced a world tour for next year, full of initiatives aimed at mitigating the environmental impact. The band has promised that it will reduce CO2 emissions by 50% compared to the 2016-17 world tour and will use renewable energy almost entirely to power the show. In particular, in the tour starting next August, a kinetic floor will be used to exploit the energy created by the fans and a stage will be set up made with renewable materials and solar panels, while the battery and mains power will be obtained from renewable sources. Finally, as for the near future, two highly coveted nominations await them: group of the year and best rock / alternative group at the Brit Awards in February 2022.
