Where and when can we travel? The Blastness website tells us

The movements between regions have just begun freely but, as for trips abroad, the unknowns remain many: the Greece is among the few countries to have already set a date on which it will reopen to all tourists vaccinated or presenting a tampon (May 14) and Albania is another rare example of those that do not immediately place particular restrictions , but there are still many other states that continue to keep their borders tight or impose quarantines, without giving certain timelines on the definitive opening.

When will we be able to travel again? To help answer this question there is now the section Covid-19 & Travel of the site of Blastness, a reference point for hotel business consulting and technology, which shows daily data on the pandemic and offers an estimate of the Travel Trust Date of individual countries, or the expected date for the resumption of tourist travel.

Just select the destination of interest to view all the daily and weekly data relating to the percentage of the vaccinated population and the general trend of vaccinations (i.e. the indices that have the most influence on travel) and, on the same page, the portal shows the expected date for reopening to tourism.

By doing some tests we discovered, for example, that in Canada where 13 million people have been vaccinated out of a population of 37 million – the Travel trust date is May 11, and that instead from July 30 you could start traveling toArgentina, which immunized 7 million out of 45 million inhabitants. The Travel Trust Date estimated for Italy falls within the first half of June. Useful information, the latter, especially for operators in the sector: based on this data, they can start planning the future in which they will be able to welcome foreigners.

Piergiorgio Schirru, Head of Research and Development of the Blastness Group, said: «Today more than ever, revenue management strategies are based on the ability to process data from internal and external sources of the hotel. In the particular period in which we are living, conditioned by the pandemic, even non-sectoral data, such as the vaccination trend in the various countries, directly and significantly affect the pickup trend and, consequently, the strategies “.

«The Covid-19 & Travel section – he comments Giorgio Bianchi, Managing Director of PKF hotelexperts – responds to the needs of hoteliers and operators in the sector who find themselves, at this stage, having to suddenly change their operational strategies based on the health situation in place. From the online conference it emerged clearly that the vaccination rate of a country coincides with the propensity to travel of tourists ”.
