Where do chefs eat? Pedro Siqueira gives tips for Milan, Italy

The businessman and chef Pedro Siqueira He is a partner at Massa Trattoria, in Leblon, and Ella Pizzaria, in Jardim Botânico, both in Rio de Janeiro. It has come a long way before being nominated for The Best Pizza Top 100 award, which took place this year in Milan in Italy.

With training based on French cuisine and a passion for gastronomy since childhood, Siqueira worked in renowned restaurants, such as SUN by Alex Atala; Eau by Pascal Valero; and Taillevent three Michelin star establishment, located in Paris, France. But it was in Rio de Janeiro where the São Paulo native found himself: he never left there after chef Erick Jacquin introduced him to the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

Siqueira’s cuisine is marked by the creation of home-inspired recipes. Following this path, he received recognition in some awards: with the restaurant Puro, he won “Best New” in 2015, at the Rio Show Gastronomia awards; he was “New Chef” at the Veja Rio Comer e Beber 2016/2017 award.

Massa Trattoria, his second location in Rio de Janeiro, won “Best New” in Época Magazine’s Best of the Year award in 2016. Nominated for The Best Pizza Top 100 award, which took place in Milan in September this year, Siqueira He took the opportunity to give tips on where to eat in the Italian city.

With several units in Italy, the restaurant DaZero It’s a cool place with a variety of pizzas. The house is a pizzeria with its own identity, simplicity and respect for the product.

The starters also stand out. Among them, the public can delight in cilentano crocchet (6 €), croquettes made with potatoes, homemade sausage, pepper, eggs, or whatever Tris di fritti (10 €), which are potato croquettes, Cilento and bucatini omelette.

Confine Pizza and Cantina

THE Confine is a special pizzeria, with a creative and surprising flavor, valuing local ingredients and small producers. In 2024, the house was considered the 4th best in the world in the ranking 50 Top Pizza World.

The restaurant offers a series of tasting menus, prices ranging from €40 to €60. In addition, there are starter options, such as potatoes and polenta, and even fondue.

Obicà Duomo

The restaurant Obicà Duomo also known as Obicà Mozzarella Bar is a traditional house worth visiting for the food, people, style and, of course, the view of the Duomo, the city’s postcard. Its mozzarella bar always brings a difference to the experience.

The house features a varied menuwith seafood, pasta, prosciutto, smoked salmon, pizza, sandwiches and more. For dessert, visitors can choose from Tiramisú (4.5 or 8 €), hazelnut panna cotta (4.5 or 8 €) and even a sweets tasting (11.5 €), with three small portions.

THE Starbucks Reserve is an iconic café that has reinvented itself in Milan to suit all tastes. Beautiful, very touristy store, which has a different feel than the other classic ones.

With a terrace and a unique design, the public can opt for the Coffee Experience, which presents the mixology of the drink. Furthermore, it is possible to delve deeper into the history of cocktails such as the espresso martini and whiskey.
