The chef Fabiana Agostini , a descendant of an Italian family, had his first involvement with gastronomy during family Sunday lunches. Starting her professional career at the age of 16, she joined the now-defunct Le Tan Tan restaurant, where she worked under the mentorship of Fred Frank, an experienced chef specializing in French cuisine.
After completing her internship, Fabiana worked in renowned kitchens in Brazil, France and Spain. After returning to Brazil, the chef worked in different restaurants such as Pellegrino, Santo Grão, Café Med, Charlo, Café Antique, Le Vin, Le Tan Tan and Makoto. In 2021 she was invited to take on the position of executive chef at the first branch of the Caviar Kaspia group in Latin America with the mission of tropicalizing the restaurant’s menu in Brazil and including other delicacies besides caviar and also took over the kitchen at Mia Crudo and Pastathe Makoto group’s first Italian restaurant that recently opened.
Check out where the chef likes to eat in São Paulo:
- Han Kang Restaurant
“I really like Korean cuisine. My children and I often go to the Bom Retiro neighborhood, where we found a restaurant called Han Kang, known for its tradition and spicy flavors. One dish I love is spicy squid with gotjang and nira. Furthermore, the atmosphere is unique, with the owners themselves serving you in Korean and preparing the dishes personally. They make their own gotjang sauce!”
Han Kang Restaurant: Rua Prates, 379 – Bom Retiro, São Paulo – SP / Opening hours: every day, from 11:30 am to 10 pm.
- Nit Tapas Bar

“Nit, created by my friend and Chef Oscar Bosch, it’s a real delight! I love going with my friends to enjoy the tapas that remind me of my stay in Spain. The dishes are delicious, and the drinks are not far behind. I recommend the Batas Bravas, the pancetta bun and, to accompany, the Mr. Nice Guy, a refreshing and citrusy drink made with rum, passion fruit and yuzu.”
Nit tapas bar: R. Oscar Freire, 153 – Jardim Paulista, São Paulo – SP / Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 5pm to midnight; Saturday, from 12pm to midnight; and Sunday, from 12pm to 10pm.
- Makoto

“I’ve been a fan of Makoto since its opening. The hot dishes are incredible, like the Brussels sprouts with kimchee sauce, the delicious Makoto Salad with miso sauce and the crunchy tempura flakes. The cauliflower with feta sauce is simply unbeatable! And for dessert, be sure to try the delicious Tres Leches cake, a soft cake dipped in a syrup of rapadura, pineapple and meringue. It’s a real passion!”
Makoto: Av. Magalhães de Castro, 12000 – Morumbi (Shopping Cidade Jardins) and Rua Haddock Lobo, 1626, 4th floor, Cerqueira César, São Paulo – SP / Operation: Monday, from 12pm to 3:30pm and 6:30pm to 10:30pm; Tuesday to Thursday, from 12pm to 3:30pm and from 6:30pm to 11pm; Friday, from 12pm to 4:30pm and 6:30pm to 11:30pm; Saturday, from 12pm to 11:30pm; and Sunday, from 12pm to 10:30pm.
- Picchi

“Under the command of chef Pier Paolo, the Picchi restaurant brings back my fond memories, but always brings an innovative touch. The dishes are delicious, and the feeling of freshness is incredible. Pier Paolo knows how to please, which is why I always order the tasting menu to surprise myself. Everything I’ve tried there has been incredible! It’s a great place for a romantic dinner, a business lunch or to go with the family. I just love it!”
Picchi: R. Oscar Freire, 533 – Jardins, São Paulo – SP / Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, from 12pm to 3pm and 7pm to 11pm, and Sunday, from 12pm to 4pm. Not open on Mondays.
