Cook, baker and jiu-jitsu fighter. These are just some of the attributes of Helena Thousand Mena professional graduated in gastronomy from Senac Águas de São Pedro and who started his career at the Txai Resort, in Itacaré – there, in addition to piloting the stoves, he also surfed the paradise beach in Bahia.
The small town in the south of the state was still the place where she played the Casa Sapucaia restaurant. Subsequently, already outside Brazil but still close to the sea, it became Trainee of a luxury resort in the Outer Banks, North Carolina, in the United States.

It is also in the neighborhood that the professional lives and enjoys the most varied cuisines. Next, she shares her favorite addresses and recommends the best dishes – from tacos, pub food and good meats:
LosDos Taqueria
THE LosDos Taqueria is dedicated to tacos and serves delicious Mexican delicacies at any time of day. Both the menu and the space on Guaicuí Street are dry – there are about 10 tacos options, including beef, pork, cauliflower and pumpkin-cabotiá.
The taco tortillas are made only from corn, and the staff even sells the tortillas for us to take home. LosDos is on the side of St. Chico and whenever I can I run away for a bite.

Yashiro Restaurant
It is a super traditional Japanese restaurant and is located near St. Chico, in Pinheiros. It was opened in 1976 and serves typical dishes by the buffet system at lunch and à la carte at dinner. Its founder, Daisuke Okada, came to Brazil in 1959 through the Japanese immigration program to work in Mogi das Cruzes.
from the menu of Yashiro I recommend the sukiyaki and yakisoba, which are amazing for colder days. For hotter days, my suggestion goes to the combo and the bento.

Mario’s Bar
Bar do Mário is a small bar on the corner of Rua Artur de Azevedo. It’s very simple and, like a good pub, it has tables on the sidewalk.
The Bem Casado (dish with rice, beans, steak and fries) and the fried fish have my heart. In addition to these bar delights, the codfish cake is highly praised. And the cold beer completes the combo.
Rua Artur de Azevedo, 1162 – Pinheiros, São Paulo – SP.
Golden Mouth
It’s my baby. THE Pub is already legendary in São Paulo and works with a neat classic cocktail shaker. Arnaldo Hirai’s drinks win me over – the classic Tom Collins and Negroni are my favorites.
Macunaíma is also one of the special drinks of the house: cocktail based on cachaça, white fernet and tahiti lime. Besides the cocktails, the food is always good! I like to order bolovo, valadão (loin cup sandwich), gizzard, chard, among others.

Le Jazz
THE Le Jazz incorporated the essence of French brasseries and does a great job on Rua dos Pinheiros, where it is synonymous with success and waiting lines. The French cuisine menu ranges from omelets and quiches to classics such as Boeuf Bourguignon and L’Entrecôte.
Funny thing is, every time I go to the restaurant I think about ordering something different, but I always end up at Steak Tartare with green salad and fries. There’s no mistake!

El Pampero
It’s a neighborhood steakhouse. The place is small and serves meats like ancho and rib steak. Meals are also served on the sidewalk, where the combination with parrilla is delicious.
From Tuesday to Thursday, the El Pampero serves a PF that I love. The meat is very good.
