The 2GIS cartographic service conducted a study in which it found out where the network of charging stations for electric transport is most developed in Russia. According to the service, almost a third of all stations are located in Moscow and St. Petersburg. This is followed by such cities as Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Least of all stations are located in Yekaterinburg and Barnaul.
In the capital, the largest number of publicly available charging stations for electric vehicles are located in the Presnensky District. Then the list includes the Basmanny District, Zamoskvorechye, Tverskoy and Danilovsky Districts. The owners of electric cars in the Donskoy region and on the Arbat may have difficulties with charging – there are only three stations each. In St. Petersburg, the most “electrified” districts are Primorsky and Moskovsky.

2GIS noted that over the past year, the number of charging stations for electric vehicles in Russia has increased by 68%. However, in general, they are still few in the 100 largest cities in the country. Nevertheless, over the past two years, users have become three times more likely to access them on cards, which indicates the demand for such chargers. 2GIS specialists expect active development of infrastructure for electric transport in the coming years.
