The announcement was made by WHO Director-General of the Tentros Antanom Gebregesos and the aim of the decision is to increase access to vaccines for the entire African continent, where epidemics have risen by almost 40% in the last week.

“The consortium includes the company Afrigen Biologics & Vaccines, which will be active as a center for both the production of mRNA vaccines and training for the production company Biovac”, he explained during a press conference at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, while the participation is being discussed. other small and large companies in the project.
