Where to eat in the post-block in the Pinheiros neighborhood, in SP

The festivities are just beginning, but it is estimated that in 2024 São Paulo should continue to hold the title of the biggest street Carnival in Brazil. According to SPTuris, last year around 15 million people enjoyed the city's 462 blocks, generating an estimated total of R$2.9 million in the economy.

This time, by the end of February, more than 500 processions will have passed through the streets, once again bringing together 15 million revelers. And only in the region of Pine trees there will be 90 blocks that will entertain the public.

Therefore, we have put together places in the neighborhood to replenish energy quickly and deliciously. Check out:

Atzi

A taqueria run by award-winning chefs Eduardo Ortiz and Luana Sabino will operate normally during festive days. There, revelers can replenish their energy in a practical, quick and tasty way. Without waiters, orders must be placed directly at the cashier and picked up at the counter. The set menu consists of five classic tacos: Al Pastor, with pineapple and pork roasted on the “trompo” (vertical grill made of ceramic brick brought from Mexico); Asada, stuffed with meat and guacamole; chicharrón, with juicy pieces of crunchy crackling; grilled chicken thigh; and smoked mushroom mix. Prices range from R$18 to R$20.

One of the most traditional in the city is certainly a sure destination for hungry post-bloquinho revelers, especially for those looking for good value for money. To help cure a hangover, try the Amarelinho, a house classic with brioche bread, palmira cheese, fried egg in butter and tomato (R$ 43). To complement it, it's worth trying the Ovaltine Milkshake, chocolate ice cream topped with Ovaltine farofa (R$ 35).

Da Mooca Pizza Shop

A Fellipe Zanuto's work It is sold in pieces and to be eaten with your hands. The pizzas are displayed on the counter at the front of the store. To satisfy your hunger, 16 flavors to choose from, including Calabronx, with mozzarella, diavoleti, red onion and basil (R$ 13 per slice), potato with sliced, mozzarella, pepper, fleur de sel and rosemary (R$ 12), as well as a sweet version with Nutella and pistachios (R$ 14).

BEC Bar and Churras

BEC's menu has reinforced sandwich options straight from the in-house grill, great for a nutritious post-block snack. Among the three options are the Sanduba Cupim made on ciabatta levin bread with coleslaw sauce, accompanied by spicy mayonnaise (R$ 39); Sausage sandwich also served on ciabatta with cheese and vinaigrette (R$ 34); and the Sanduba Querota with sour cream, roasted garlic and biquinho pepper (R$ 39). If you're really hungry, it's also worth ordering the casqueirado termite accompanied by toast, chimichurri and house pepper (R$ 79).

Gaarden

Right in the heart of Largo da Batata, the beautiful bar is a great place to end the carnival days. The kitchen is led by the chef Enrique Paredes, from the Amazo Peruano restaurant, and there are two burgers that satisfy any hunger! One of them is the Broaster Chicken, a crispy thigh in smoked chipotle sauce, roasted onion mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato and served with fries (R$46). The second option is the Chicharron Sandwich, an excellent confit pork pancetta, red onion, acevitado sauce and crisp lettuce and fries (R$ 46). If you still have room for a beer, the place has great draft beers on tap.

Petros Greek Taverna

Petros Greek Taverna, with two restaurants in Pinheiros, offers a menu that is quite different from what São Paulo residents are used to – after all, the restaurant specializes in Greek cuisine from starters to desserts. It's worth trying a classic Greek sandwich, the Souvláki (R$39), which is made with beef, ham, chicken or fish of the day, rolled in pita bread, tomato, onion, tzatziki and French fries.

The Rendez-Vous café and bistro has a French soul with a kitchen led by chef Adriana Silvério. The menu ranges from brunch to lunch and dinner, always with French classics in mind, such as Croque Monsieur (R$40), three layers of bread, ham, bechamel sauce and gouda cheese au gratin. And the Croque Madame version (R$44), with three layers of bread, ham, béchamel sauce, Gouda cheese au gratin and fried egg.

Bubbleleh

The Israeli house values ​​Middle Eastern flavors and delicacies. The lean menu offers Israeli “street food” items, such as the Falafel Sandwich, served on pita bread or sheet bread, served with falafel balls, hummus, tahini, amba, tomato and cucumber salad, fried eggplant, cucumber sour and cabbage mix (R$42) and the chicken Shawarma, served in pita bread or leaf bread, accompanied by hummus, tahini, tomato and cucumber salad (R$42).

Pita Kebab

Since 2006, Pita Kebab has been a success in the city with its pastries, kebabs and falafel. With a relaxed atmosphere and great value for money, it could be the ideal place for post-block. Good options are: open meat esfiha (R$ 11); lamb kebab (R$48); raw kibbeh with dry curd, homos and tabbouleh accompanied by Syrian bread and toast (R$55); and the zebra pie to finish (R$ 20).
