White House about Musk Fight and Trump’s ally: “Boys are boys”

White House Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the Trump administration will continue to continue the “public dispute” between Elon Musk and the president’s main commercial advisor Peter Navarro about Donald Trump’s new tariffs.

“These are obviously two individuals who have very different views on trade and tariffs. Boys are boys, and we will let their public dispute continue,” Leavitt told a press conference on Tuesday (8).

The secretary of the press said it is an example of Trump’s willingness to listen to all sides ”and that the president has people with“ diverse opinions on very diverse issues ”in his intimate circle.

Navarro called Tesla’s founder and Trump’s main advisor to “car assemble” in an interview with CNBC after Musk criticized the new tariffs. The commercial consultant insisted that Trump rates are not a tax increase, but a tax cut.

Musk responded to an interview X publication, saying Navarro is “truly an idiot.” Later, defending his company’s credentials, Musk wrote that “Tesla has most cars made in the United States. Navarro is darker than a bag of bricks.”

Musk said over the weekend that he wants to see a “zero fare situation” between the US and the European Union, breaking with Trump. He spoke against the new rates, including in public comments and private conversations with the president, according to people familiar with the matter.
