White House confirms Biden-Putin videoconference on Ukraine

US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a video conference on Tuesday to discuss the tense situation in Ukraine.

“Biden will reiterate US concerns about Russian military activity on the border with Ukraine and reiterate US support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said White House spokeswoman Jen.

She added that other topics of the two leaders’ conversation would be “issues of strategic stability, cyberspace and regional”.

The two leaders will also discuss bilateral relations and implementation of agreements reached during a summit in Geneva in June, the Kremlin announced today.

“The talks will take place on Tuesday,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov told Reuters. “Bilateral relations, of course Ukraine and the implementation of the agreements reached in Geneva are the main issues on the agenda,” he added.

It was not immediately clear when the telephone call would be made.
