US President Joe Biden is feeling well and continuing his isolation measures after testing positive for COVID, his doctor said in a memo released by the White House today and reported by Reuters.
“Given the new positive diagnosis we reported yesterday, we have continued daily monitoring. This morning, as expected, the SARS-CoV-2 antigen test remained positive,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in the memo.
A small but significant percentage of people taking Paxlovid will experience a covid rebound that occurs days after the five-day treatment ends, studies have shown.
“Biden will continue to conduct the affairs of the American people,” his doctor said.
The White House has tried throughout his illness to highlight Biden’s ability to overcome his illness when he first tested positive, releasing videos showing him reassuring Americans he was fine and participating in online meetings with staff of the White House.
