White House: Ten trucks with humanitarian aid passed through Gaza, but more aid is needed

Another ten trucks carrying humanitarian aid passed through Gauzeamid shelling from Israel, his spokesman announced White House John Kirby.

Kirby noted that some fuel is now available in the Gaza Strip, but more is needed.

The spokesman said he had seen reports of the expansion of Israeli ground operations in Gaza but declined to comment on the matter.

Kirby also said the US would continue, along with its partners, to press for the release of the hostages being held by Hamas. He added that if a local, temporary pause (of the fighting) is needed to free the hostages from Gaza, then “we’re all for it.” Washington would also support a halt to the bombing to allow humanitarian aid and fuel to be sent to Gaza and electricity to be restored.
