Who and when will receive an Easter Gift from the state

A two-day countdown counts from today for the payment of the Easter Gift by the state for the employees who have joined the “Co-Work” mechanism or have been suspended from January 2022 onwards.

This Gift will be given in two installments to the employees who have joined the “Co-Work”.

The first installment will be paid next Thursday, April 14, 2022, according to an official announcement of the Ministry of Labor. It will concern those who joined the “Co-Work” for any period between January-March 2022. Also on April 14, 2022 the Easter Gift will be paid by the state to those employees who were suspended during the aforementioned period.

The second installment will apply only to those employees who joined the “Co-Work” mechanism in April, which will be paid after Easter, on an exact date, which will be announced soon by the Ministry of Labor.

As of 2020, when the implementation of “Co-operation” and the suspension of contracts under the package of measures to support companies and employees affected by the pandemic began, the Easter gift that the state gives to employees is calculated as follows :

What applies to “Collaboration”

In “Co-Work” it is calculated as a proportion of the compensation that employees receive for the part of their salary, which is reduced in the short term.

Even if he is an employee with a salary of 1000 euros / month, he joined the “Co-Work” in the period January-April 2022, after his working hours were reduced and his salary by 50%, ie it amounted to 500 euros / month.

The state subsidized 60% of its reduced salary, ie paid the amount of 300 euros / month for the first 4 months of 2022. The Easter Gift from the state will amount to 50% of 300 euros, ie it will amount to 150 euros.

¾ of these, ie the amount of 112.5 euros will be paid on April 14, while the rest ¼ (37.5 euros) after Easter. This employee is also entitled to an Easter Gift from his employer.

This will amount to 250 euros. That is, from the state and its employer, this employee will receive the amount of 400 euros for Easter, instead of 500 euros, if he was not part of the “Co-Work”.

What applies to contract suspensions

In contract suspensions, the state Easter gift is calculated as a proportion of the special compensation of 534 euros. For example, even an employee was suspended in January 2022, but returned to active service in the following months until April 2022.

He will receive a state Easter Gift equal to ¼ of 50% of 534 euros, ie 66.75 euros. This amount will be paid by the Ministry. Working on April 14. This employee will also receive an Easter gift from his employer which will correspond to ¾ 50% of his monthly salary.

Thus, if he receives, for example, 1000 euros / month, he will receive an Easter gift from his employer equal to 375 euros. In total, from the state and his employer, this employee will receive for Easter, the amount of 441.75 euros against 500 euros. , which he would have received if he had not been suspended in January 2022.
