Rapper Dochii 26, was the winner of the category of Best rap album of Grammy 2025 . The award, considered the most important in the music industry, took place on Sunday night (2).
With mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal” she disputed the category against J. Cole (by the album “Might Delete Later”), Eminem (“The Death of Slim Shady (GRACE COUP)”), Common and Pete Rock (“The Auditorium, Vol. 1”) and Future and Metro Boomin (“We Don’t Trust You”).
Dockii was the only woman in the category, which was repeated throughout the history of Grammy. Until then, only two other women managed to take the gramophone at this point of the awards that is dominated by men: LAURYN HILL and Cardi b .
Hill received the “The Score” award in the 1997 edition of the ceremony, while Cardi B with “Invasion of Privacy” in 2019.
Dockii not only became the third woman in the category, but the first artist to play this award with a mixtape.

Who is Dochii?

“I know there are some black girl out there, so many black women out there, who are watching me and I can say to you: anything is possible,” he continued. “Don’t let anyone project any stereotype to you that says you can’t be here, that you are very black or that you are not smart enough or very dramatic or too noisy. You are exactly who you have to be now where you are and I am a witness to it. ”
