Who is Raye, singer who broke Brit Awards record

British singer and songwriter Raye , set a new record after winning six awards at the Brit Awards, which took place last Saturday (02). According to Billboard, she started singing as a child, in churches. In 2014, the singer released her first EP, titled “Welcome To The Winter”.

In 2021, Raye parted ways with her record label to work as an independent artist after she said the label had withheld her debut album.

It was only in 2023 that she released her first album, “My 21st Century Blues”. In it, she explores topics such as sexual harassment and body dysmorphia.

The album reached 58th place on the Billboard 200 in the United States. His award-winning song “Escapism” reached number one in the UK charts in January last year, according to Billboard.

According to Universal Music, Raye's career streams exceed one billion plays mark . The artist received Double Platinum and Gold Certificates, in addition to two Silver Certificates.

The star already has a scheduled date to come to Brazil. Its presentation on Brazilian soil is scheduled for May 18 during the C6 Fest , which takes place in Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo.
