Who is the new player targeting the online gambling market?

More and more providers seem to be interested in gaining access to the domestic online gambling industry with Greece emerging recently as a pole of attraction for companies operating in this field. In this context, another player has set his sights on the Greek market in which he hopes to enter. Specifically, about two weeks ago, Triton Greece Ltd submitted an application in order to obtain the necessary licensing to conduct gambling in the Greek area of ​​iGaming.

The request of Triton Greece is added to the requests submitted last April by two more companies, Brobet and Elladix Ltd, as capital.gr had reported in a previous post. In fact, the evaluation of the applications of Brobet and Elladix is ​​in the final stage by the competent management of the National Gaming Control Commission (EEEP), while for Triton the process has just begun. All three companies are based in Malta and have applied for both types of licenses for both betting (Type 1) and casino and live casino (Type 2). If, therefore, they meet the necessary conditions, it is not excluded that in the next period they will receive the approval from the EEEP and be launched in the Greek market, expanding the available options for the players.

Which is Triton Greece Limited

As for the most recent one, Triton Greece, it is a company, which was established in August 2016, with an initial share capital of 20,000 euros, based in Ta ‘Xbiex, Malta, while allegedly controlling the inactive , now, DOMS Holdings, which was dissolved a few months ago and more specifically in January 2022. DOMS Holdings, based in London, had a Cypriot manager and was active in the field of technology and gambling. The last year he published financial data was 2020, while in the past it was called StatusBet Limited. On the other hand, Philippe Warzee appeared in 2020 as the director of Triton Greece and Spyridon Petropoulos was the shareholder. We remind you that in April the requests for permission of Brobet and Elladix had preceded.

Brobet Limited is one of the largest gambling and casino companies in Bulgaria, which is behind the Efbet brand and is the main sponsor of the neighboring country’s Football League. The Bulgarian betting company, registered in Malta, was founded in 2006 by brothers Tsvetomir and Boyan Naidenov and their father Stefan Naidenov.

As for Elladix Limited, it is also registered in Malta, it was created about a year ago, it does not show at least, so far, active functions and activities. It should be noted that online gambling is among the fastest growing gambling industries with our country being quite high in the options for this market. This dynamic is reflected in the fact that since August 2021, 15 online gaming companies have been licensed by the EEEP and are active in this market.
