A new hotel investment, to create a five-star unit, is being implemented in Sounio by the WH Europe investment group. Israeli funds are involved and the hotel, which will be called Isla Brown Sounio, is part of the development plan of the Brown hotels chain, which already has units in the center of Athens, Agioi Theodorou, Eretria and Chalkida.

The investment was already included in the development law, as announced two days ago.

In particular, it was approved that the investment plan of the company “WHG SOUNIO MANAGEMENT SA” be included in the provisions of law 4399/2016, and more specifically in the General Entrepreneurship support regime of articles 37 to 41 thereof (cycle Z). with d.t. “WHG SOUNIO S.A.” which refers to the establishment of a five-star (5*) hotel unit.

The unit will have a capacity of 179 rooms/406 beds, in the Punta Zeza area of ​​Souni, with a total eligible cost equal to 14.2 million euros. The amount of aid in the form of the tax exemption is 1.4 million euros.

As stated on the WH Europe website, the property is a former resort, consisting of two buildings, built on a total area of ​​more than 33,000 sq.m. The area is known as “Punta Zeza” and takes its name from the popular beach located a short distance from the property.

WH Europe is a hotel and commercial real estate investment group with presence in Greece, Cyprus, Romania and Germany.

As stated on the group’s website, its strategy focuses on the acquisition, redevelopment and repositioning of assets. Its portfolio is constantly evolving and expanding, through acquisitions of assets with great potential.

The five-star hotel will have a spa, gym, children’s playground and conference room for 500 people. There will also be a rooftop pool with a coffee bar and rooms with a private pool. The project is signed by Elastic Architects.

As highlighted, the resort is a 9-minute drive from the port of Lavrio, 40 minutes from Athens airport, 15 minutes from the Temple of Poseidon, 50 minutes from the center of Athens and 1 hour and 15 minutes from the port of Piraeus.
