WHO: Johnson & Johnson vaccine approval for mutagenic countries

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine against Covid-19 recommended for use in countries where coronavirus variants are prevalent, according to the Committee of Experts World Health Organization, reports the RES.

“In countries where the spread of the strains is high and in countries where we now have information on the use of this vaccine to control Covid-19 caused by these strains of the virus, we recommend its use,” said Alessandro Craivoto. chairman of the World Health Organization team of experts, which met to judge the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine developed by the American pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson.

The WHO team of experts may also announce the AstraZeneca vaccine later in the day to clarify issues arising from European countries’ decision to discontinue the company vaccine citing some rare side effects.
