Who was Djidja Cardoso, former owner of Garantido who died in Manaus

Dilemar Cardoso Carlos da Silva which was known as Djidja Cardoso , died this Tuesday (28), in Manaus. She was an emblematic figure of Parintins Folklore Festival especially known for her role as Sinhazinha do Boi Garantido.

Born in Parintins, a city that lives and breathes Amazonian folklore, Djidja demonstrated a vibrant passion for the boi-bumbá from a young age. She inherited her cultural heritage from her family, who were native to the island.

Recently Djidja said in an interview that he was Isabelle Nogueira the sister-in-law of Garantido and former participant of Big Brother Brasil 2024 (BBB 24), responsible for encouraging her to participate in the contest for Sinhazinha do Boi.

“The one who really disturbed me at the time was Isabelle. I did not want. I had already participated in a contest, then I lost, so I didn't want to do it anymore. She said: 'Come on, friend, let's participate in the contest.' She sent a lot of messages saying that I already had the no, that I had to chase the yes.”

After winning the competition, Djidja Cardoso defended Item 7 (Sinhã's position among the points that are evaluated at the Parintins Festival in the presentation of each ox) for almost 5 years, from 2016 to 2020, when he left the position after changing Boi Garantido board.

During the performance at Bumbódromo, the little girl represents the delicacy and beauty of the Amazonian woman, and Djidja embodied this role with grace and authenticity. Her performances were eagerly awaited, and she quickly became an audience favorite.

After retiring from performing in the arena, she began working as a businesswoman. She was a partner in a chain of beauty salons in Manaus and Parintins. Djidja also used her social networks to share photos of her work as an entrepreneur and fitness influencer.

In 2021, Djidja participated in Peladão a Bordo, a reality show produced in Manaus and shown on TV A Crítica, in which she was champion, becoming the Queen of Peladão that year.
