Who was Marina Mamede, the influencer who died at 34?

Influencer and activist Marina Mamede, 34, was found dead on Friday afternoon (5) in the city of Ouro Preto, in Minas Gerais. The state’s Civil Police are investigating the death.

Marina became known during the 2022 elections when she published a video in which she said she was a repentant Bolsonaro supporter who had decided not to vote for the former president after discovering that he was a Freemason. In the video, she also stated that “Lula was a true Christian.”

Defending progressive agendas, the video was an attempt to turn votes towards President Lula (PT) during the polarized election with former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

In addition to her political activism, Marina was also a streamer and shared her routine on social media. The influencer had three children and discussed issues of motherhood with her followers. She had more than 110 thousand followers on digital platforms.

Marina was president of the State Council for Social Assistance of Ouro Preto (CONSEAS-OP), the city where she lived with her children.

On social media, PT president Gleisi Hoffmann mourned the influencer’s death. “A woman who defended democracy and ended up being cowardly persecuted by Bolsonaro supporters for her political stance. May God comfort her family and friends. My condolences. Rest in peace, comrade,” she posted.
