Vitória do Prado, aged 20, died after being run over by a drunk driver on Sunday afternoon (27), in Novo Horizonte, in the interior of São Paulo.
The young woman was hit while crossing Plácido Peres Street. The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of SP reported that the 25-year-old driver was arrested red-handed.
Vitória was studying nutrition in her fourth semester at the University of Marília and was already doing an internship in the area.
On her social networks, the student published several videos and photos of her routine and moments with friends and family. Vitória had also been dating since 2022.
She went to the gym and practiced beach tennis, as well as going out to dinner and going to night parties. His last post was about five days ago on Instagram, where he had just over 2 thousand followers.
Nicole Natasha, a close friend of Vitória, made a post on her networks lamenting the young woman’s death. “I will always remember you, at this moment I cry with sadness”, he wrote.
The Nutrition colleague highlighted how much her friend will be missed in her daily life. “Your smile enchanted anyone, your friendliness, your crazy way, you will always be my apocalyptic double. I won’t have the advice you gave me anymore… there won’t be anyone I can cry to and send a panicked message to,” he added.

Vitória’s burial took place this Tuesday (29), at 10 am, at the Municipal Cemetery of Novo Horizonte.
On social media, family and friends expressed sadness and anger. Monise Ribeiro, the young woman’s sister, wrote: “As the culprit returns home, we cry goodbye to my sister.”
The case was registered as manslaughter while driving a motor vehicle at the Novo Horizonte Police Station.
