Brazilian musician Kira Salim (Clara Ganapol Salim), 34, is one of the victims of running over that left 11 dead during a street festival in Vancouver in Canada, on Sunday afternoon (27).
In 2014, Kira graduated in Music Degree from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Unirio). Years later, in 2021, she completed a master’s degree in psychological intervention in development and education at the Universidad Europea del Atlântico Universidad Europea del Atlântico.
The Brazilian lived for three years in British Columbia and worked as a school advisor at Fraser River Middle School in New Westminster.
Previously, he worked as a children’s teacher at another secondary school in Canada and was a music teacher at the American School of Rio de Janeiro.
On social networks, Kira stated that her personal mission was to “facilitate and guide marginalized young people and communities to thrive in their lives, creating a diverse and equitable environment that stimulates different strengths and personalities.”
In 2013, the musician founded and sang in the Marcha Nerd block, with some colleagues from Unirio. The block brings together people dressed as pop culture characters.

The suspect was known to the police “under certain circumstances,” Vancouver police interim chief Steve Rai told reporters at a press conference on Sunday.
The investigation, led by the Vancouver Police Department’s serious crimes section, is underway and the police asked the public to contact them with any information about the case.
Videos of the organizers of the event on Instagram showed animated cultural dances and musical performances throughout the day, with various food trucks and market stalls spread over both sides of the street.
