BBB7, shown on Rede Globo in 2007, had participant Diego Gasques, known as Alemão, as the big winner, with a voting percentage of 91%, against 9% for participant Carollini. In the previous wall, the then 19-year-old student had eliminated Bruna Tavares with 67% of the votes. At that time, Big Brother Brasil still had double walls.
After 85 days of confinement and 14 walls (including the final), Diego Alemão earned 1 million reais and a car. Carol took home R$50,000, while Bruna won R$30,000.
Love triangle in public focus
The administrator won the program due to the popularity he gained when participating in a love triangle with Irís Stefanelli and Fani Pacheco. Diego stayed with Fani at the first parties, but, at the same time, he courted Íris, who did not give in to his advances, which led the public to root for the couple.
Over time, the other participants in the program began to worry about the trio’s popularity and arranged to put them together on the walls. First it was Alemão and Íris, she left the program with 57% of the votes, a close race. Afterwards, he went with Fani, eliminated with 89%.
But this triangle wasn’t the only romance that marked BBB7, Flávia Viana and Fernando (known as Justin) started a relationship in the house and got married in the same year. They spent nine years together and in 2017 she began a relationship with Marcelo Zangrandi, whom she met during her participation in A Fazenda.
Another notable point of this edition was the expulsion of participant Ferrnando Orozco in the first week, as they discovered that he was a childhood friend of a Globo director. In his place came Felipe Cobra, skateboarder.
What’s new in this edition
This was also the first BBB with a recap. In the first week, designer Airton Cabral and translator Juliana Regueiro went to the wall together and were eliminated by Flávia and Alan Pierre. However, the public had the opportunity to choose one of them to return in the second week: the chosen one was Airton with 68% of the votes.
This was also the first BBB to do a cultural exchange with the reality show from another country. The BBB7 audience can choose between Íris and Alan Pierre Miranda who will participate in Grande Hermano Argentina 4. She received 88% of the votes and spent five days in the house in the country of Buenos Aires.
Where is the BBB7 winner?
Diego Alemão dated Iris after BBB7, but the romance was very brief. He became a presenter on the Multishow channel in 2008, in attractions related to reality, such as “Aquecimento BBB” and ‘A Elimination”. Today he is a businessman and manages the money he earned by investing the prize he won in 2007.
The former participant was the subject of the news in September 2023 after being arrested in Rio de Janeiro for illegal possession of weapons. The Military Police say he was considered “apparently altered” at the time. After leaving prison on bail, he admitted himself to a clinic to treat his drug addiction. Today, he is living in California (United States).
